Guernsey Mind provides a service that promotes positive mental wellbeing for the community. They campaign locally to improve services, raise awareness and encourage understanding.

Their key objectives are to:

  • ensure every employer in the Bailiwick has the opportunity to understand and manage mental wellbeing in the workplace
  • ensure Guernsey Mind is a recognised hub for mental wellbeing and to pursue opportunities to further enhance the service on offer
  • campaign and lobby to improve services, raise awareness and encourage understanding of mental health issues.
  • ensure Guernsey Mind is running effectively and sustainably for the benefit of those who need support

 

Groups & Services Available at The Lions Mind Centre,Town Arsenal, St Peter Port, GY1 1UW

Mental Health Service User Group - Campaign group that promotes, educates, communicates and empowers for the benefit of all service users.

Overeaters Anonymous - A support group offering a program of recovery from compulsive eating using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of OA.

Alcoholics Anonymous - A fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

The L'Vair Project - A Saturday morning drop-in offering peer support for people struggling with mental health problems. The service is available for carers, service users and non-service users alike.

Alzheimer's Society Guernsey - Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in Guernsey.

Wings - An evening social drop-in for mental health service users experiencing a severe and enduring mental health condition. This service is run by the Recovery and Rehabilitation Team. You need to be referred to this by Mental Health Services.

Horizons - A morning social drop-in for mental health service users. This service is run by the Recovery and Wellbeing Service.   You need to be referred to this by Mental Health Services.

Psychological Therapies and Interventions Service - The service offers both short and long term psychological therapies and interventions for adults (of all ages) who have moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You need to be referred to this by Mental Health Services.

Parents of Anxious Childen - An informal group of parents meeting to support each other, share knowledge and resources, provide information and learn from guest speakers.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) - A service for young people under the age of 18 years, their families and carers. They provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of problems related to mental health.   You need to be referred to this by Mental Health Services or your GP
